From preventative dentistry, cleanings, and amalgam-free fillings to cosmetic bonding, inlays, onlays, and dental implants, we provide a wide range of dental services to meet your individual needs. We know that every patient is different and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to any dental issue. That’s why Drs. Galligan & Villa and our staff of experienced and skilled dental specialists are constantly working to stay up to date on all of the latest procedures and technologies.
From regular checkups and cleanings to more intense dental procedures, we are here to give you the most comfortable dental experience possible, with the best results in the industry.
Preventative dentistry includes all of the services and treatments necessary to prevent dental and oral health problems, such as tooth decay and gum disease like gingivitis and periodontitis.
These services include but are not limited to:
- Digital X-rays
- Complete dental exams
- Fluoride treatments
We want the very best for our patients, and that means the best preventative measures to avoid problems down the road. When you visit Dr. Galligan for a regular checkup and cleaning, he’ll give you the recommendations and information you need for optimal dental and oral health.
We believe that patient education is just as important as any other part of prevention. So, if you have any questions about brushing or flossing techniques, dental hygiene products we recommend, or any other treatments that could help prevent cavities, gum disease, damaged enamel, and other issues, please feel free to ask Drs. Galligan & Villa or any of our team of expert dental specialists.
If you have mild to moderate damage and/or decay on the cusps (bumps in the biting surfaces) of your teeth, you may be a candidate for inlays or onlays. These alternatives to composite fillings return function and structure to teeth by repairing these surfaces and allowing you to bite and chew foods normally again.
Inlays and onlays differ only in how they lie on the teeth. Inlays are placed within the cusps of the teeth, while onlays cover one or more cusps. This procedure takes two visits. In the first visit, Dr. Galligan will take an impression of the affected tooth (or teeth) and then place a temporary sealant on the tooth. At the second visit, he will use a custom-made inlay or onlay and bond it to the tooth with resin.
In addition to cavities and/or decay that affect the cusps of the teeth, inlays and onlays are also used to repair minor chips and cracks that aren’t severe enough to need a dental crown. For more information on inlays, onlays, or any other services, feel free to call us and schedule a consultation.
Our smile makeover service is different for every patient. This highly personalized process starts with a consultation with Drs. Galligan and Villa to determine exactly which procedures and services will be best for you to achieve the most beautiful smile possible.
If you have a high lip line and a low gum line, your teeth might appear short, giving you a gummy smile. If that’s the case, porcelain veneers might be a big part of your smile makeover. If you’re unhappy with yellowing or stains, you’ll likely want to include teeth whitening with your smile makeover.
Whatever your goals for your smile, we are dedicated to achieving them. With experience and skill using cutting edge technology and all of the latest dental procedures, we have a tailor-made solution, just for you and your smile. Call us today for a consultation, and you could be on the road to a brighter, more beautiful smile in no time!
If you’re looking for a great solution to repair minor imperfections in your teeth, such as gaps or small chips, cosmetic bonding might be the perfect choice for you. For this service, we will bond a resin that’s matched to the color of your teeth (or that’s a few shades brighter to correct for discoloration) to your tooth or teeth. The resin is then shaped and buffed to give you the look and feel of clean, smooth, beautiful teeth.
We use resin bonding to correct a number of dental issues, both cosmetic and functional, including but not limited to:
- Filling small gaps between teeth
- Changing a tooth’s shape
- Covering discoloration for a brighter smile
- Repairing tooth decay
Bonding is a durable, permanent solution to these issues and others. With regular checkups and maintenance when necessary, functional and cosmetic bonding can give you the smile you’ve been dreaming of for years to come.
Do you wince at the mere thought of getting your teeth cleaned? Does the idea of filling a cavity fill you with dread? Sedation dentistry is designed with your comfort in mind.
All too often, people avoid going to the dentist because they fear discomfort, pain, and lengthy procedures. If you get anxious when you think about visiting the dentist, we offer sedation dentistry services to alleviate your fears and make your experience much more positive.
At our practice, if you choose sedation to calm your nerves, we will use a mild sedative before any procedure begins. You’ll be conscious throughout your visit, but you will be relaxed and calm. In fact, you may not remember much of your visit at all after you leave. You definitely won’t remember any pain or anxiety.
We are dedicated to your dental and oral health, and we’re also committed to helping you feel as comfortable as possible throughout your visit. If you’ve been putting off a visit to the dentist due to fear or anxiety, call us today to learn more about your sedation dentistry choices.
Over time, plaque and tartar deposits build up on your teeth. Even if you’re incredibly vigilant about brushing, flossing, and rinsing, you’re still likely to develop at least some plaque buildup over time, especially in harder to reach places in your mouth. That’s why regular cleanings (at least twice per year) are so important to your dental and oral health.
Not only do regular cleanings help rid your teeth of plaque and tartar, they also give us a chance to examine your teeth and gums for any developing issues. If you’re at risk for tooth decay, gingivitis, periodontitis, or any other oral health issues, Drs. Galligan & Villa can spot them early and make recommendations for treatments and care to prevent future problems.
When you come in for a cleaning, our staff of expert dental specialists will ensure that you have the most positive experience possible and that you leave with sparkling clean teeth. You’ll also be able to rest assured that your overall dental and oral health is in good hands with Drs. Galligan & Villa and our expert team here at Galligan & Villa.
Amalgam Free Fillings
At Galligan & Villa, we use only amalgam-free fillings to repair cavities. Since the 19th century, fillings have traditionally been made of a combination (or amalgam) of silver and mercury. We now know, that mercury is highly toxic, and each time you brush a tooth with an amalgam filling, you have the chance of releasing mercury dust into your mouth and increasing your chances of developing mercury poisoning.
Instead of mercury-based fillings, we prefer using resin bonding, porcelain, and other composites. These not only eliminate the chances of developing mercury poisoning, but they are also much better solutions for repairing tooth decay. Silver and gold fillings will always stand out and will never look natural in your mouth. However, these more modern filling materials are much closer in color to your teeth, giving a much more natural-looking end result.
These amalgam-free fillings are also much more durable and will last much longer. With proper care and regular checkups with Drs. Galligan & Villa, you can enjoy years of cavity-free teeth and virtually invisible fillings that won’t put your health at risk.
